SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- After a two game road stint, the No. 11 Augustana women's basketball team returns to Sioux Falls for a four game homestand, beginning this weekend. The Vikings, who are 15-1 overall and 11-1 in the NSIC, hosts Upper Iowa on Friday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. and Winona State the following day at 4 p.m. Both contests are being held inside the Sioux Falls Arena.
Augustana started the 2017-18 season with 14 straight wins, which was the best start in program history and the longest win streak since the Vikings won 20 in a row from Nov. 5, 2006 to Jan. 20, 2007. Augie had its win streak snapped when they lost at MSU Moorhead last Friday, Jan. 12, 75-64, but quickly regrouped, as the Vikings knocked off No. 20 Northern State 77-64 in Aberdeen.
Upper Iowa enters the contest with a 2-16 overall record and an 0-12 record in conference play. The Peacocks have lost 14 in a row, most recently to Minnesota Duluth, 65-34, last Saturday, Jan. 13 in Fayette. Upper Iowa is led by Junior Blair Klostermann. The Dyersville, Iowa, native averages 12.3 points and 4.1 rebounds a game. Friday's contest with UIU is televised on MidcoSN with David Brown and Brad Newitt on the call.
Winona State brings a 13-3 record into the weekend, including a 9-3 record in the NSIC. The Warriors are currently on a two game losing streak, dropping contests to both Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State last weekend. Winona State has two players who average 10 or more points a night. Hannah McGlone, a senior from Streamwood, Ill., averages a double-double and is the team's leading scorer, pouring in 15 points and gathering 11.1 rebounds a game. Allie Pickrain, a freshman guard from Apple Valley, Minn. averages 11 points per game.

Logan O'Farrell is Augustana's leading scorer. The Summit, S.D. native is coming off a 22 point performance in the win over Northern State and is averaging 14 points a game.

As a team, the Vikings are shooting 45 percent from the field and 34 percent from behind the arc. Their 82 points per game is No. 1 in the NSIC and ninth nationally.
