SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- Mikia Kriener has signed to continue her volleyball career at Augustana volleyball head coach Jen Jacobs announced Monday. Kriener is an Okoboji, Iowa native and  6'2 outside hitter/right side hitter, Spirit Lake High School.

Her senior year Kriener had 340 Kills (3.24/set) while hitting .246 and tallied 63 aces. On the defensive side, she tallied 315 digs (3.00/set) and 39 blocks. Kreiner was second on her team in both kills and digs.

Kriener earned first team All-Conference honors for her impressive senior season. Kriener's work in the classroom was also rewarded when she was named Academic All-State.

"Mikia is a shining light on and off the court," said Jacobs. "you can't miss her...she's 6'2" and always has a bright smile on her face. We look forward to seeing that forceful block shutting our opponents down!"

Kriener plans to major in Biology and Spanish at Augustana. After graduation Kriener plans to attend a physician assistant school and hopes to work as an emergency room physicians assistant.
