WEST FARGO, N.D. -- With 528 points, two individual conference championships and 32 top-eight finishes, the Augustana swimming team placed fourth at the four-day NSIC Championships that wrapped up Saturday night from the Hulbert Aquatic Center.
Minnesota State won the team conference championships with 973 points, St. Cloud State was the runner-up with 952.5 points while Sioux Falls took third place with 581 points.
Taylor Beagle, a freshman from Lead, S.D., won her second conference crown Saturday night in the 1600 freestyle with a finals championship time of 17:08.16.
Kelsey Gilbert finished in third place in the event with a finals time of 17:18.78 while
Emma Miller earned a fourth place finish in the 1600 freestyle, touching the finish line in 17:22.48.
Linzie Kreizel (11th place) and
Paige Knight (23rd place) also placed in the event.
Beagle was voted the NSIC Freshmen of the year by the league's coaches.Â
In the 100 yard IM,
Merriam Hagadorn earned a fifth place finish with a time of 1:00.09 in the 'A' finals, while
Grace Porter finished fourth in the 'C' finals with a time of 1:03.44.
Destini Oehlertz earned a third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle 'B' finals with a 52.72 finish.
Micah Hudlet garnered a fifth place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a finals time of 2:23.63.
Claire Washenberger finished fifth in the 'B' finals of the event while
Maggie Oberg finished sixth in the 'B's.
In the 400 yard freestyle relay, Oehlertz,
Hannah Gonzalez, Gilbert and Miller earned a sixth place finish with a time of 53.13.
Grace Porter, Washenberger,
Lindsey Schultz and Beagle finished ninth in the event.
Individual swimmers will know if their season continues on March. 1.
The NCAA Championships, which are held in Greensbroro, N.C., take place on March 14-17
