INDIANAPOLIS -- In just its second year of existence, the Augustana University Swimming team has qualified a swimmer to the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee announced Thursday.
Taylor Beagle, the NSIC Freshman of the year from Lead, S.D., qualified for the "B" cut 1650 freestyle.
The championships will be held March 14-17 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Beagle won the NSIC Championship in the 1650 freestyle, with a time of 17:08.16, which was a pool record at the Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo, N.D.
Kelsey Gilbert, a freshman from Clarkston, Mich. is listed as the No. 1 alternate in the the mile, and got pulled into the Championships due to the fact that a selected swimmer can not attend, or participate.
