YANKTON, S.D. - Augustana Track and Field senior
Anthony Huber decided last week's school record discus throw wasn't far enough. On Wednesday night at the Mt. Marty Twilight in Yankton, S.D. re-broke his school record in the discus by a meter just for good measure.
Huber took first in the discus with a toss of 54.02-meters. Huber's mark ranks him seventh in all of Division II. Huber also finished seventh in the shot put and 12th in the hammer throw on Wednesday.
The Vikings also had top finishers in two other events.
Coley Stoller took first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.19-meters.
Ashley Solano finished in first in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 1:05.69 and also took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.17. In the men's 110-meter hurdles,
Paul Meloche,
Evan Ward and
Dylon Van't Hof finished in third, fourth and fifth respectively. Ward also took third in the 400-meter hurdles.
In other field events,
Lily Noble and
Kendra Ludeman took second in their respective events. Noble took second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.20-meters and Ludeman finished in second in the high jump with a personal record mark of 1.55-meters.
Sarah Westerman finished in sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.01-meters.
In sprints,
Alaina Klapperich and
Mariah Beckius finished in second and sixth, respectively, in the women's 100-meters. In the men's 100-meters,
Riley Crawford finished in fifth and in the men's 200-meters
Trevor DeSchepper ran a personal best time in a seventh place finish. In the women's 200-meters Beckius took third and
Brooke DeVos finished in eighth.
In the women's 400-meters, DeVos ran a season's best time of 59.54 and in the men's 400-meters
Blake Savey and
Chris Sharpe finished in seventh and eighth, respectively. In the women's 800-meters,
Meagan Schenk raced to a personal record time of 2:17.88 in a third place finish.
In distance races,
Endre Wigaard finished in third in his first collegiate outdoor race with a time of 4:06.49 in the 1500-meters. In the women's 5000-meters,
Amanda Nelson finished in third and
Julia Megazzini took fifth and in the men's 5000-meters
Noah Hanson finished in fourth.
The Vikings will compete in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on April 26-28 and the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa on April 27 to wrap up the week.
