Augustana Swimming To Compete in USF Quad Dual

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Augustana swim team will compete in the Sioux Falls Quad Dual at the Midco Aquatic Center on Friday and Saturday. 

The Meet
After hosting its first meet of the season, the Augustana swim team will be on the road for the next three meets before hosting the Augustana Invitational on Nov. 21. 

The Opponents
Sioux Falls, Minnesota State and MSU Moorhead are all slated to compete on Friday and Saturday in Sioux Falls. 

Sioux Falls
The Cougars recently competed in the UMary Quad Dual where it defeated UMary 303-119, NSU 329-78 and Augie 267-141. The Cougars are picked to finish third in the NSIC Preseason poll and are ranked at No. 14 in the CSCAA Top-25 preseason Poll. 

MSU Moorhead
The Dragons are coming off hosting the MSUM Multi Duals. MSU Moorhead came away with a 2-4 record after the weekend was finished. The Dragons are picked to finish sixth in the NSIC Preseason Poll. 

Minnesota State
The Mavericks opened up the season against Division I South Dakota where they defeat the Coyotes 151.5-148.5. Recently MSU defeated SMSU 192-74. Minnesota State was picked to finish second in the NSIC Preseason Poll and are ranked at No. 21 in the Preseason CSCAA Poll. 

The Vikings
Augustana is coming off hosting its first meet of the season after previously been on the road for the UMary Quad Dual and the Midwest Shootout. The Vikings defeated the Marauders 160-102 last weekend inside the Elmen Center. Nine Vikings took home top honors including two relay teams against UMary. 

Swimmer to Watch
Destini Oehlertz took home second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.49 and took home the top honors after swimming a time of 53.60 in the 100-yard freestyle. The senior was a part of two relay teams that took home first place honors in the 200-yard freestyle and the 400-yard medley.
