SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's tennis team will open up its 2019-20 season when it travels to Des Moines, Iowa, to compete in the Drake Invite on Friday. 

The Invite
The Invite will take place on Friday and consists of six teams. Instead of team scores, players will compete as individuals in singles and doubles flights to determine a flight champion.

The Opponents
Drake, Creighton, Northern Iowa, Nebraska-Omaha, Wichita State and South Dakota are all slated to compete in the Drake Invite. 

Player To Watch
Sophomore Laura Arce Vieyra returns this season after a very successful first year in the Navy and Gold. The Mexico City, Mexico, native, earned NSIC Freshman of the Year honors after going 16-1 at No. 2 Singles and 20-0 during No.1 and No. 2 Doubles last season. She also earned NSIC First-Team honors. 

One Last Thing
The Vikings clinched their 10th-straight NSIC regular-season title and ninth-straight NSIC tournament title last season. The Vikings have been a dynasty since head coach Marc Kurtz took over in 2009. Augustana also has a 110-straight conference win streak on the line headed into this season.
