ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- The Augustana wrestling team defeated the Red Raiders of Northwestern College 36-12 Thursday night in Orange City, Iowa. The win gave the Vikings their seventh-consecutive dual victory, a feat that hasn't been reached since the 2015-16 campaign.

Junior Ethan Cota started the night off with a dominating performance in the 125 pound bout. Cota recorded four near-fall points twice in the first period and went into the second period up 12-0, before winning by way of a 17-2 tech fall. Just over a minute later, redshirt junior Brandon Carroll pinned his opponent in the 133 pound bout to give the Vikings an 11-0 lead.

After an open in the 141 pound match and losses in the 149 and 157 pound bouts, Senior Bailey Neises recorded an 11-2 major decision at 165 pounds to push the score to 21-6 in favor of Augustana.

Sophomore Dylan Schuck logged the Vikings next victory in the 174 pound bout with the team's second fall of the night, this time at 3:36. Senior Regan Bye got Augustana's last victory of the night in the 184 pound match with a 10-6 decision.

Overall, Augustana won five of the eight bouts on the night with two falls, a tech fall and a major decision.
