SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana head track & field coach Tracy Hellman has announced a five-meet regular season schedule beginning Jan. 16. In all, the Vikings will also compete at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships along with the possibility of qualifying for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. 

To prepare for the championship events, Augustana opens the delayed 2021 season at the WSC Indoor Classic on Jan. 16 in Wayne, Nebraska. Two weekends later, Augustana goes the opposite direction to compete at the Northern State Invite in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on Jan. 31. 

The Vikings will then spend three-straight meets at events hosted by Division I foes. That begins Feb. 5 at the Bison Open in Fargo, North Dakota, followed by the SDSU Indoor Classic (Feb. 13) and the SDSU Last Chance (Feb. 20), both in Brookings, South Dakota. 

Augustana, picked to finish second in both the men's and women's NSIC Preseason Coaches' Polls, competes at the NSIC Indoor Championships Feb. 26-27 in Mankato, Minnesota. 

The NCAA Championships take place March 11-13 in Birmingham, Alabama. Augustana returns four qualifiers to the 2020 indoor championships prior to their cancellation last season. Two of them, Tyl Woelber and Elizabeth Schaefer, have been named the NSIC Preseason Field Athletes of the Year. The other returners are Austin Miller and Carly Rahn.
