BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana's
Hana Beyer has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year the league office announced Thursday as part of the NSIC Women's Basketball All-Conference awards.

Joining Beyer in with postseason honors were
Abby Hora,
Aislinn Duffy and
Lauren Sees. Hora earned second-team honors while Duffy and Sees garnered All-Freshmen Team accolades.

Beyer, part of the NSIC All-Defensive Team for the second-straight year, concluded the NSIC season leading the league with 2.2 steals per game, tallying 49 total over the 22-game conference season. Over the entire regular season, the senior totaled 57 steals, also a league-high. She also totaled two games with six or more steals.

The native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, was the leader of a defensive unit that ranked 25
th in the nation with 11.1 steals per game, part of forcing 18.4 turnovers per outing.

Hora, hailing from Viborg, South Dakota, garners her first NSIC postseason honor as a member of the NSIC All-Conference Second Team. The senior led the Vikings with 11.7 points per game in the NSIC season while ranking second in the league with 2.0 steals per outing. The CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree tallied career-highs in back-to-back weekends to close out the regular season. First, she tallied 23 points on Feb. 8 at St. Cloud State, then followed with 27 points on Feb. 15 in a win over Concordia-St. Paul.

Duffy averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per NSIC contest through her inaugural campaign and earned an NSIC South Division Athlete of the Week honor on Feb. 3. The native of Rapid City, South Dakota, earned the honor after recording her first career double-double in a win over Minot State and followed with a 16-point output in a win over UMary. She scored in double figures in 12 NSIC contests including a stretch on nine-straight.

Sees averaged 7.3 points per game in the conference season while shooting at a 43.5-percent clip. Hailing from Avon, South Dakota, Sees scored a season-high 22 points at Bemidji State on Dec. 14 and a height of 5-8, blocked two shots in the Vikings win over MSU Moorhead on Jan. 18.

Augustana, who topped Bemidji State on Wednesday night in the opening round of the NSIC Tournament, continues postseason action Sunday in the quarterfinals against St. Cloud State. Tip-off from the Sanford Pentagon is slated for 8 p.m.
