SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana wrestling team announced the signing of Bloomington, Illinois, native Carson Oliger Monday afternoon. Oliger is currently a senior at Bloomington High School and will enroll as a freshman at Augustana in the fall of 2020. 

"We are excited to have Carson join the Augustana wrestling family," head coach Jason Reitmeier said. "Carson adds depth to the light weights. He is also an exceptional student and I look forward to working with him in the fall."

As a senior, Oliger went 37-9 on the mat and placed second at regionals at 120 pounds. He was named First Team All-Conference and won the Senior Scholar-Athlete award. As a junior, he went 36-15, also placing second at regionals while garnering First Team All-Conference honors in addition to being awarded the Big 12 Conference Scholar-Athlete award. As a sophomore, he went 29-16 at 113 pounds, placing second at regionals in the weight class and earning First Team All-Conference honors. He went 22-21 during his freshman season at 113 pounds. 

Oliger was born on June 13, 2002 in Gainesville, Georgia. He has two siblings, Julian and Rhylee, and enjoys playing video games and hanging out with his friends. Oliger is set to graduate from Bloomington High School in May and plans to earn a degree in neuroscience at Augustana.
