Four Vikings Earn 2020 CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named 1,479 swimmers and divers to the Scholar All-American Team for the 2019-20 season on Thursday. Among those swimmers, Augustana had four student-athletes make the All-American team in Taylor Beagle and Destini Oehlertz, with Emma Miller, and Kamryn Robarge earning honorable mention.

Beagle, a biology major, had an outstanding junior season, being named the NSIC Swimmer of the Year and also the NSIC Swimmer of the Meet at the NSIC Championships. She claimed victories in the 1000-yard freestyle, 400-yard IM, and 1650 yard-freestyle at the NSIC Championships.  She also qualified for nationals in the 1000-yard freestyle and 1650-yard freestyle, earning All-America honors. Beagle also earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. 

Oehlertz, a nursing major, had a wonderful senior campaign, improving two of her school records in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. She placed seventh in the 50-yard freestyle, placed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle, and placed second in the 100-backstroke at the NSIC Championships. She also qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle, where she was named an All-American. 

Miller, a biology major, played an integral part in the fourth-place team finish at the NSIC Championships. She had a third-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and also placed third in the 500-yard freestyle.

Robarge, a mathematics major, had an excellent sophomore season being part of the 200-yard medley relay that placed seventh as well as a part of the 200-freestyle relay that placed fourth at the NSIC Championships. She also placed 16th in the 50-yard freestyle at the NSIC Championships. 

All four student-athletes made up the 800-freestyle relay that placed second at the NSIC Championships.
