SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's basketball team opens up road competition by travelling to St. Paul, Minnesota to face Concordia-St. Paul on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game is slated for 6 p.m. and Saturday's game will begin at 2 p.m.
Concordia-St. Paul is not be selling tickets for the games this weekend. However, both games will be on the NSIC Network for free.
About the Vikings
The Vikings are coming off a split against Minnesota State, winning the first game on Jan. 9 80-72 and fell in overtime this past Sunday. Augustana is now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the loop.
Augustana has seen a lot of offense come from senior Izzy Van Veldhuizen this season. The senior had never started a game until this year. However, she is leading the team in both minutes at 36.1 per game and 17.3 points per game.
Sophomore Aislinn Duffy has also made her presence known, starting with a career-high in points in the season's first game. She was also able to record a double-double against Minnesota State on Jan. 9, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 boards. It was the second double-double of her career.
The Vikings have also seen a lot of points come from sophomore Lauren Sees. In the win against Minnesota State on Jan. 9, Sees had a career game scoring 28 points.
About the Golden Bears
Concordia-St. Paul is undefeated on the season at 4-0 overall and 2-0 NSIC and is led by sixth-year head coach Amanda Johnson. The undefeated start has given the Golden Bears regional recognition in the latest D2SIDA Women's Basketball Poll, placing them fifth in the D2SIDA Central Region Poll.
In their sweep against Wayne State last week, the Golden Bears were led by Meghan DuBois with a career-high 24 points on Jan. 8, leading to a final score of 96-60. CSP also won 93-86 on Saturday night.
Last week, the Golden Bears also garnered a player of the week honors in Lindsey Becher who led the team with 20.5 points and 6 rebounds per game. She averages 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a true freshman and also leads the NSIC with 15 blocks.

One Last Thing
Augustana has found a lot of baskets coming from beyond the arc this year, 33 times to be exact. The Vikings currently rank second in the NSIC in 3-point field goals attempted. Among those, Van Veldhuizen is ranked first in the NSIC in 3-point field goal attempts and is ranked first in the NSIC in 3-point field goals made with 12 on the season.
