LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Augustana volleyball junior outside hitter Maddy Guetter has been selected as the AVCA DII National Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. The Wabasso, Minnesota, native helped the Vikings claim two wins over the weekend along with setting a new school record.
Guetter, this week's NSIC Player of the Week, played in eight sets over the weekend, helping the Vikings defeat MSU Moorhead (3-0) and Northern State (3-2). She garnered a double-double in the win against Northern State setting a new school record in kills at 34, while holding a hitting percentage of .459 along with her 12 digs.
The last time Viking volleyball had a player achieve this award was back on Nov. 12, 2013 in Holly Hafemeyer.
Augustana, who is riding a six-match winning streak, travels to Minnesota State on Friday and Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday.
