SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's basketball team inked three student-athletes on National Signing Day, head coach Dave Krauth announced Wednesday. CJ Adamson, Katelyn Diegnau, and Jaden Matkins have signed their national letters of intent to play for the Vikings in 2022-23.
"I am very pleased with this year's class of signees," Krauth said. "These three are all versatile players who will fit into our system well. CJ, Katelyn and Jaden are all outstanding academically and have the potential to become major contributors to our basketball program.
"We are excited to have them as members of the Augustana family."
CJ Adamson | 5-10 | Guard | Rochester, Minn. | Lourdes HS
Adamson has been a three-year letter winner and starter for Lourdes High School, helping it to a 9-8 record in her junior season. She averaged 15 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Adamson also joined the 1,000-point club during her junior season along with earning an All-State Honorable Mention along with earning All-Section First Team and all-conference accolades.
Adamson plans to major in pre-med while at Augustana.
Katelyn Diegnau | 6-1 | Forward/Center | Huntley, Minn. | Granada Huntley East Chain HS
Diegnau helped Granada Huntley East Chain to a 10-7 record her junior year. She averaged 9.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. Diegnau was named First Team all-conference, all-area team and a Presidential Award recipient.
Diegnau is undecided on her major.
Jaden Matkins | 6-0 | Forward | Rapid City, S.D. | Stevens HS
Matkins helped Stevens High School place second at the South Dakota State Girls AA Basketball Tournament in her junior year with a regular season of 17-6. She averaged 3.4 points per game while totaling 88 rebounds, 23 steals, 21 assists and 17 blocks.
Matkins plans to major in pre-dental while at Augustana.
