SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's basketball team plays MSU Moorhead in the quarterfinals of the 2021 NSIC/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament. Tip-off from the Sanford Pentagon is slated for 1 p.m. on Thursday. Augustana enters as the NSIC South Division's top seed while MSU Moorhead is the fourth seed from the north division.
The game is a rematch as the two squads opened the 2021 season against each other inside the Elmen Center. Augustana won 83-65 while the Dragons prevailed 71-66 in the second game.

About The Vikings
Augustana, the NSIC South Division Champion, is coming off a sweep against Wayne State, its second week in a row sweeping its opponents, riding a four-game winning streak.
In Friday night's game, the Vikings shot lights out, shooting 53 percent from the field and 52 percent from beyond the arc. Augustana also had five players scoring in double figures led by senior Izzy Van Veldhuizen with 16 points. She went 3-for-3 on her 3-pointers.
On Saturday night, sophomore Aislinn Duffy scored a career-high 22 points shooting 10-of-15 from the field. She also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists.
This week, four Vikings were named to the NSIC South Division Second Team in Aislinn Duffy, Hannah Mitby, Lauren Sees and Izzy Van Veldhuizen. Mitby was also named to the South Division All-Defensive Team. Rounding out the starters, Jennifer Aadland was named to the South Division All-Freshman Team.
Head coach Dave Krauth was named NSIC South Division Coach of The Year.
About The Dragons
MSU Moorhead is 7-5 overall and 6-4 within the conference. The Dragons are led by 21-year head coach Karla Nelson.
Last week, MSU Moorhead split against Northern State with a win Friday night, 63-51, and a close affair Saturday night, losing 63-62.
On Friday, the Dragons had two players scoring in double-digits with Peyton Boom scoring 15 points and Sarah Jacobson scoring 11 points.
Peyton Boom leads the Dragons in scoring with 13.7 points per game and shares the rebounding lead with Sarah Jacobson at 5.7 a piece per contest. Boom was named to the NSIC's North Division First Team.
One Last Thing
In the last four games, Augustana's bench has averaged 22.25 points accounting for more than a quarter of its scoring offense. The Depth of the Vikings has made it hard for opponents this year with seven players scoring at least 13 points at some point during the season.
