BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana track & field's Austin Miller has been named the NSIC Track Athlete of the Week. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native was a part of the men's distance medley relay that placed second at the Gorilla Classic on Friday night.Â
The relay ran a school-record time of 9:39.26, along with running under the previous meet and facility record.
The accolades for the relay kept rolling, as the time became the fastest South Dakota collegiate time, along with being No. 4 on the Division II all-time list.
Miller returned on Saturday to break the school record in the mile running a blistering 4:02.40 to break one of Augustana's longest-standing records of 31 years. His time broke the meet record and ranks him 10th in the nation.
The Vikings return to action this week at the SDSU Last Chance meet on Saturday before heading to the NSIC Indoor Championships Feb. 25-26.
