SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--Augustana baseball will make its home debut on Tuesday, hosting the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers in an afternoon doubleheader. The Vikings enter the matchup 8-3-1 after returning from a 10-game trip to Florida. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Ronken Field.Â
The Tigers
Dakota Wesleyan is 5-4 overall this season. The Tigers compete in the NAIA Great Plains Athletic Conference. Dakota Wesleyan has not played a conference game yet this season. In the most recent contest for DWU, the Tigers fell to Wheaton College, 12-9.
The Vikings and Tigers have not played since the 2013 season and AU has won 12 straight games in the series. In all, Augustana is 28-7 against DWU.Â
The Vikings
Augustana had a busy week in Florida, starting with a three-game series at Florida Southern. The Vikings logged their first sweep of the season against the Mocs, then traveled north to Orlando for a week of seven games. AU went 4-2-1, with Florida weather halting the final game of the week to end in a 2-2 tie.
Carter Howell batted .412 with a .941 slugging percentage as the Vikings went 3-2-1 on their Spring Break trip to Florida. He slugged three home runs and 12 RBI, both team highs. Howell totaled seven hits, six runs scored and struck out just twice in 17 at-bats.
On the mound, Tanner Brown threw a complete game giving up just two unearned runs against Wayne State (Mich.). In the seven-inning contest, he gave up six hits, two unearned runs and struck out six batters.

Augustana will host St. Cloud State this weekend in a three-game series, starting with a Saturday doubleheader. The Vikings will finish out the month of March at Ronken Field.
