SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--Augustana baseball hosts the Bemidji State Beavers in a three-game series this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The Vikings will play a third game on Sunday and first pitch is set for noon.

The Beavers

Bemidji State holds a record of 3-16 overall and 0-5 in NSIC action. The Beavers most recently played a Thursday doubleheader against conference opponent the Minnesota State Mavericks. BSU was defeated in both games, scoring a lone run in game one with a final score of 12-1, and falling in game two, 10-0. 

Parker Borg and Sam Kalberer lead the Beavers with 18 hits each. Borg also leads the team in home runs with four. 

On the mound, Logan Barrick holds a record of 1-2, logging a team-leading 27 strikeouts. Barrick has also spent 21.2 innings on the mound, the most of any pitcher in the lineup for Bemidji State.

The Vikings

Augustana is 14-4-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference. The Vikings defeated NSIC opponent Minnesota Duluth on Thursday in an afternoon doubleheader, totaling 23 runs. Jordan Barth and Drey Dirksen led the Vikings in two games at bat.

Evan Furst started the first game for Augustana. Furst pitched 4.1 innings and recorded four strikeouts. Tony Lanier earned the win in the second game against the Bulldogs, pitching 5.1 innings and logging eight strikeouts. 

Barth leads the Vikings with 25 hits. Howell follows Barth with 24 in the hits category. Howell and Jack Hines are leading the team in runs with 18 and 17, respectively.

One Last Thing

Tanner Brown is 13 strikeouts away from becoming the all-time leader in strikeouts. Brown is second with 210 strikeouts. The current all-time leader in strikeouts is Jacob Blank who played for the Vikings from 2015 until 2018 and compiled 222 over his career.
