MARSHALL, Minn. – Two Vikings earned D2CCA All-America honors, announced Wednesday afternoon by the Conference Commissioners Association. 

Carter Howell and Tanner Brown earned 2022 CCA Third-Team All-America honors. Jordan Barth earned an Honorable Mention to the All-America team.

The CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams, which are selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members from schools playing Division II baseball, were first established in 2007. This is the seventh year in which the program is solely sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.

Carter Howell
Howell earned D2CCA All-America honors for the first time in his career after receiving First-Team All-Region honors in 2022 and Second-Team All-Region honors in 2021. The senior started in all 61 games this season and hit .396 with 68 runs scored, 91 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs and 74 RBI. 

Howell stole 23 bases in 25 attempts and notched 91 hits. He also has a .691 SLG% and a .447 OB%.

Tanner Brown
Brown earned D2CCA Third-Team All-America honors for the first time in his career as a Viking. He was named to the All-Region First Team for the first time in his career during the 2022 season. Also named the 2022 NSIC Pitcher of the Year, he leads Augustana as the all-time strikeout leader with 301.

Brown holds a record of 9-1 in 2022. In 87.1 innings pitched, he has struck out 117 hitters and has an ERA of 2.89. With his 25th career win against Central Missouri, Brown became the leader in career pitching wins at Augustana. His career record is 25-3.

Brown has been named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week three times in his career, with the most recent honor coming after the win over Bemidji State which saw Brown break the career strikeout record. 

Jordan Barth
Barth earned D2CCA First-Team All-Region honors for the second time in his career this season and earned 2022 D2CCA Honorable Mention All-America honors. He is the only player to earn two-time first team honors, making the 2019 first team as a utility player before earning first team honors at third base in 2022. Barth holds three career records at Augustana for most doubles, most RBI and most hits. 

In 2022, Barth has the third-highest batting average in the lineup at .380. He leads the team in hits with 93 and 245 at bats. The senior has logged 20 doubles, 15 home runs, two triples, 52 RBI and stole 13 bases in 16 attempts.
