Viking Swimming & Diving Earns CSCAA Academic Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Both Augustana swimming & diving team earned academic honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA). The women's team earned the Scholar All-America Team honor for the third-straight year while the men's squad earns the honor in its inaugural season.
 
CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany said, "Coach Micko understands the values of training the complete student-athlete and that is evident by the team's success in the classroom."
 
The Augustana women's swimming and diving team earned the honor with a 3.46 GPA. The men's team earned the honor with a 3.04 GPA.
 
In addition, the women's team set a new record for the most Scholar All-America Team members with seven. Taylor Beagle and Nesrine Jelliti were named to the first team while Angelina Chan, Leona Coha, Makoa Montgomery, Kamryn Robarge and Isabel Waite all earned second-team honors.
 
To qualify for First Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA and have participated in their national championship. Second Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA and achieve a "B" standard time for the national championship.
 
Beagle ends her storied career at Augustana having earned the honor for the fifth time. Robarge has now earned the honor twice, while the remaining five earn the academic honor for the first time.
