SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana swimming & diving squads return to action Thursday in the Midco Aquatic Center at 5 p.m. The No. 13 women will take on both Sioux Falls and Omaha while the men will compete against Omaha only.Â
Thursday will also be Senior Day where Augustana will recognize Viking swimming & diving seniors prior to the start of the meet. Those 10 seniors being honored are: Emily Alama, Hailey Handevidt, Ruth Huffman, Maddy Olson, Cailey Scott, Lydia Smith, Justine Stellmaker, Kacper Mayerberg, Kamryn Robarge and Isabel Waite.

The Competition
The Omaha women enter this week's contest 2-1 in dual action with their most recent competition being a first place finish at the Rochester Invite hosted by St. Cloud State back in December. The Omaha men are 0-2 following a second place finish at the Rochester Invite. The women of Sioux Falls are 7-3 this season with their most recent win being a sweep at the Southwest Minnesota State Swim Meet last weekend.Â
The Vikings
Augustana returns to competition following the Vikings' time abroad in Costa Rica. If you haven't kept up with the travel blogs, click here. The Vikings last competition was at their own Augustana Invitational that was highlighted by 20 broken school records.Â
For the women, Bryn Greenwaldt enters this week following her career performance at the AU Invitational where she broke four school records and became the first Viking in program history to achieve an NCAA 'A' cut. Greenwaldt finished the 50 free in a time of 22.53 to garner the prolific achievement. In the event, Greenwladt currently ranks 3rd in the nation. Continuing the success for the women is Kate Robbins who broke open the school record books in the 3 meter dive with a score of 217.25. Robbins saw a career milestone through advancing to the finals on the first day of the AU Invite.Â
For the men, Mason Kauffeld heads into this week's competition following his three broken school records at the AU Invite. Kauffeld broke records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke as well as the 200 IM. Caden Kavanaugh returns to represent the men's diving team following his school record in the one meter dive at the AU Invite. Kavanaugh scored a personal best in the event with a finals score of 211.95.
