From Coach Makepeace
"We had a really good weekend. Avery Lommel was a star on the boards again. She led our squad and had a really good performance while hitting a qualification score for the NCAA Championships. It is a really good benchmark for where the dive squad is at as they all put together really good performances.

The swimming squad was also in good form, making progress on what we've been working on throughout the duration this fall, betting better each day while working on the little things that will add up when it matters most. We were led by some great performances from Nesrine Jelliti once again as she gets better each week in the breaststroke events. Bryn Greenwaldt did a good job of setting the tone for our team in the backstroke and sprint events, along with our relays.

We also had really impressive performances across the board from a variety of swimmers who don't necessarily get all the accolades but continue to do the little things and work on the small details that make their performances better than last week.

In the Fast Lane
  • Brynn Greenwaldt claimed Augustana's first event victory Friday night with a 23.61 in the 50-yard freestyle. She continued with a win in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 57.42.
  • Nesrine Jelliti won the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday, clocking in at 1:04.91. She followed on Saturday in the 200-yard breaststroke with a near three-second win while touching the wall in 2:25.56.
  • A fun event was held Friday with Nathalia Silva winning the 100-yard fun IM in 59:01. She was able to use all four strokes in any order in the event.
  • On Saturday, Silva claimed the victory in the 200-yard backstroke by tapping the wall in 2:06.02.
  • Meesha Montgomery placed second in Friday's 100-yard freestyle, finishing just a half second shy of winning with a time of 53.12.
  • Angelina Chan earned a runner-up finish in the 50-free to Greenwaldt on Saturday. She finished in 24.58 seconds while Greenwaldt's win on Saturday was in a time of 23.88.

Off the Boards
  • Avery Lommel once again reset the record book on the 3M diver on Friday as she totaled 240.75 points.
  • Lommel followed on Saturday in the 1M dive, hitting the NCAA qualifying mark for 6 dives with 258.85 points. That also cleared the school record by more than 57 points.
  • Clare Duplissis placed runner-up to Lommel both days, totaling 225.2 points on the 3M and 234.30 on Saturday. The 234.3 cleared what was previously a school record prior to Lommel's dives.
