Women’s 200 Medley Relay Swims Fastest Time in Nation

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The women's 200-yard medley relay team owns the fastest time in the nation after the second day of the Augie Invite taking place in Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls. The Augustana swimming & diving teams continued to see success with another school record and more NCAA qualifying standards met.

In the Fast Lane
  • The 200 medley relay team consisting of Bryn Greenwaldt, Nesrine Jelliti, Angelina Chan and Makoa Montgomery touched the wall in 1:41.28. The time knocked more than a second and a half off the previous school record and sits atop the nation by a half second.
  • Jelliti hit a NCAA 'B' qualifying standard in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:03.37 while placing third in the event.
  • Greenwaldt joined Jelliti with an individual qualifying mark. She achieved her time in the 100 backstroke in a time of 55.76. In the same race, Nathalia Silva had a solid finish with a time of 57.95.
  • Jackson Dircks swam a tough double, clocking in at 51.46 in the 100 backstroke and 50.84 in the 100 butterfly. He also swam as part of the men's 200 medley relay that timed in at 1:34.5
  • In the 100 butterfly, Pedro Borin touched the wall just ahead of Dircks in 50.67.
 
Off the Boards
  • David Binsfeld led a 1-2 Augustana finish on the 3-meter dive with 247.9 points. Caden Kavanagh placed second with this six-dive total of 247.2.
  • On the women's 1-meter dive, Aver Lommel held form with 229.15 points to place runner-up. Kate Robbins placed seventh with 216.20 points.
