BROOKINGS, S.D.-- The Augustana indoor track & field squad claimed two program records and seven provisional marks at the SDSU Indoor Classic this weekend.
Henry Klitzke broke the Augustana school record in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:06.49 while garnering an NCAA provisional mark. Klitzke's time is ranked at 12th in the nation. Nyanas Kur claimed the second AU school record with a 24.29 time in the 200 meter dash. She also garnered two provisional marks with one coming from the 200 meter and one in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.61.
Andrew Martens claimed the fourth provisional mark of the weekend for AU in the 60 meter hurdles claiming a time of 8.07. Martens time ranks him at 24th in division II.Â
The AU distance squad staked their claim at the classic finding an NCAA provisional mark in the distance medley relay. The group of Patty Jo English, Ella Heinitz, Mia Salas and Nicolette Schmidt finished in a time of 11:48.52. The time ranks 14th in the nation while claiming the Vikings a first place finish at the meet.Â
English continued the meet with individual success in the one mile run seeing an additional provisional mark. English finished the race in a time of 4:53.83 to claim her second provisional mark this season.Â
Colten Brand joined in the distance squad success through garnering his own provisional mark in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:17.75. This is Brands first provisional mark of the season.Â
