SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--The Augustana baseball team is heading to Cary, North Carolina, this weekend to play four games against four different opponents: D'Youville, West Chester, Saint Thomas Aquinas and Dominican.

The D'Youville Saints
D'Youville competes in the East Coast Conference and holds an overall record of 2-3. The Saints are entering the weekend matchup after defeating Mercyhurst last weekend in their most recent contests. Prior to the game against Augustana, the Saints are set for two games against Dominican.
At the plate, Jeremy Glinkski leads the team with seven hits, five RBI and three doubles this season. Samuel Worthen has the most appearances on the mound with three and holds a record of 1-0. Worthen has tossed 5.1 innings and logged six strikeouts.
The West Chester Golden Rams
West Chester is a part of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and see an overall record of 6-1 in 2023. The Golden Rams last met Pitt Johnstown on February 26, claiming a 6-1 victory.
Joe Kaleck leads the Golden Rams with 10 hits and has a batting average of .400 with one home run. JR Gifford has totaled eight RBI and has a batting average of .346 having made the start in all seven games that West Chester has played.
On the mound, Andrew Cantwell and Ryan DeHaven hold 2-0 records. Cantwell has recorded 11 strikeouts, along with Joe Sperone who has also struck out 11 batters. Cantwell's ERA sits at 1.74.
The Saint Thomas Aquinas Spartans
Saint Thomas Aquinas competes in the East Coast Conference, along with D'Youville. The Spartans are 1-3 overall and are scheduled to play three games prior to the matchup with the Vikings.

Dominican is 1-5 overall and competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. The Chargers face D'Youville and Saint Anselm College prior to facing the Vikings.
Phil Whitney is the team leader with seven hits, two doubles and a batting average of .368. David Knepper has totaled four RBI on three hits. On the hill, Anthony Leak has logged 11 strikeouts in 8.2 innings.
The Augustana Vikings
Augustana is 8-5 overall in 2023. The Vikings are coming off of a series sweep at Colorado Christian.
Ryan Jares and Trevor Winterstein earned NSIC Pitcher and Player of the Week honors for their performances in the CCU series. Jares pitched a 7.0 inning complete game shutout against Colorado Christian, recorded nine strikeouts and allowed just a single hit, held opposition to a .048 batting average in the win. Winterstein held a batting average of .529 as he recorded nine hits, five runs, one double and two home runs in the series, added 10 RBI and went 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts.
On the mound, Caleb Saari holds a record of 2-0 with 18 innings pitched. Saari has logged 24 strikeouts. Caleb Kranz follows suit with 20 strikeouts in 11.2 innings.
