Augustana Track & Field Heads to Colorado for NCAA DII Outdoor Championships

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana outdoor track & field teams saw four individuals selected to compete at the NCAA Division II National Championships May 25-27 in Pueblo, Colorado. Patty Jo English, Megan Means, Nyanas Kur and Andrew Martens were the four individuals selected to compete on the national stage. 
 
Patty Jo English and Megan Means will take the national track in the 5,000m. English, hailing from Elko, Minnesota, clocks in the 21st fastest time in all of division II in the 5k race, seeing a time of 16:27.97. Means, the Norfolk, Nebraska, native holds the 23rd fastest mark in the division with a time of 16:29.67. 
 
Nyanas Kur, hailing from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, ran the 11th fastest mark in the nation, grasping a time of 23.59 in the 200-meter dash. Kur holds the program record in the event, breaking the 24 second barrier at the USD Early Bird on April 7. 
 
Andrew Martens, a Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native punched his ticket to the national track in the 110m hurdles following a record breaking performance at NSIC Outdoor Championships. Martens broke his own school record in the event, crossing the finish line in a time of 14.03. Martens' time lands him at 19th in the nation. 
 
The prelims and finals will stream May 25-27 from the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl live on NCAA.com. The schedule for the Vikings are as follows:
 
Kur in the 200m Dash: Prelims Friday at 6:30 p.m., Finals Saturday at 8:45 p.m.
English and Means in the 5K: Finals only on Saturday at 8:45 p.m.
Martens in the 110m Hurdles: Prelims Friday at 7:50 p.m., Finals Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
