BROOKINGS, S.D. –
Andrew Martens helped propel Augustana track and field to a strong finish in the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational Saturday afternoon as he secured a new school record in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.94.
Martens opened up the meet with a strong finish in the 60-meter hurdle prelims, finishing in the top four with a time of 8.15. Martens followed up his prelims dash with a first-place finish in the finals.
Beau Brock continued the Vikings strong day with a season best 4:32.32 in the men's 1-mile run while
Caroline Sudbeck secured a time of 5:08 in the women's 1-mile. Augustana held strong in the long-distance races as
Ana McCabe and
Eleni Lovgren ran to top-10 finishes in the women's 3000-meter run with times of 10:09.30 and 10:17.28.
AU put up strong finishes in the 60-meter dash as
Luke Berends and
Cole Berends secured times of 7.20 and 7.46 while fellow Viking
Kade Stukel secured a finish of 7.26. On the women's side,
Olivia Amundson sported a time of 8.25 while teammates Jennifer Noutsogan and Lauren Merkly secured times of 8.10 and 8.31.
Lily Juhnke continued the women's strong performance in the 60-meter dash as she secured a top-5 finish with a time of 7.74.
Bryn Greenwaldt capped off Augustana's strong day with a third-place finish in the women's high jump with a spring of 1.60m.
