In their first season as a reborn program, the Cougars are 2-8 overall and 0-5 in NSIC duals after losing to Minot State and UMary on the road last weekend. They won their first DII dual on Jan. 20 at the Younes Hospitality Duals, knocking off Ouachita Baptist 33-12. Beau Kligensmith is 11-6 at 133 pounds and has recorded seven pins. At 157 pounds, Lane Fink is 11-8 with five pins.
The Vikings and Cougars matched up five times from 2006-2010, with AU winning all five. They have been dominant in every meeting, outscoring USF 229-9 in total.
The Vikings are now up to 11-4 overall and 5-1 in the NSIC after going on the road and knocking off Minot State and No. 13 UMary. The Vikings stand at No. 14 in the NWCA team rankings while getting five into the individual rankings.
