SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana head women's basketball coach Nate Vogel has announced four more additions to his 2024-25 roster. Aweng Akoi, Lola Chambers, Paige Grant and Eva Pardo-Campillo will join the Vikings for the 2024-25 season.
Aweng Akoi | Center | Sioux Falls, S.D. | O'Gorman HS
Vogel on Akoi: "We're very excited to keep a Sioux Falls student-athlete in Sioux Falls. Aweng provides us with great length and athleticism. She comes from a great program led by a great coach in Kent Kolsrud. It's great to add another Akoi family member to the Viking family."
High School: Akoi averaged 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game for the undefeated state champion Knights. Akoi was a part of a team that broke a school record for steals in a season with 332. She also shot 68.3 percent from the field.
Personal: Aweng is the daughter of Akiar Dut and Muluak Akuei. She plans to major in elementary education while at Augustana.
Lola Chambers | Forward | Pontiac, Mich. | West Bloomfield HS | Central State
Vogel on Chambers: "Lola gives us length, athleticism and experience at the post position. She is a player that can play with her back to the basket as well as step out and shoot the 3. She's going to help us in a variety of ways. We're excited to add a player of her caliber to our basketball team."
Previous School: Chambers made 44 appearances and 21 starts for the Marauders. She averaged 23.0 minutes, 5.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in her two seasons. She was named to the SIAC Commissioner All-Academic Team twice and was second on the team in both blocked shots and rebounds.
Personal: Lola is the daughter of Jeanette and Jonathan Chambers. She plans to major in exercise science while at Augustana.
Paige Grant | Forward/Center | Las Vegas, Nev. | Centennial HS | Southern Nevada
Vogel on Grant: "Paige gives us an instant impact player at the post position. She's a very athletic player that defends and rebounds at an elite level. She will also give us a scoring presence inside. She is a very high academic student and fits our culture very well. Paige is a big time addition to our basketball program."
Previous School: Grant played two seasons at Southern Nevada. She holds the program record for career rebounds, ranks second in blocked shots, fourth in steals and fifth in points scored. She was also named the school's Student Athlete of the Year while leading her team to the Regional Tournament
High School: With the Bulldogs, Grant averaged a double-double while leading her team to an undefeated season. She was also named the Freshman of the Year.
Personal: Paige is the daughter of Lawanna and Josh Grant. She plans to major in nursing while at Augustana.
Eva Pardo-Campillo | Forward | Asturias, Spain | Galén | Oakland
Vogel on Pardo-Campillo: "Eva brings big time versatility to our roster. She's a 6'1" wing that has played at the D1 level. She can shoot the 3 but has the size to post up smaller defenders. She can guard a lot of spots and can play multiple spots offensively. Eva is a special player and I'm so excited to have her join the Augustana women's basketball team."
Previous School: Pardo-Campillo saw action in 17 games totaling 61 minutes over two seasons at Oakland. She scored a career-high six points and grabbed two rebounds as a sophomore against Madonna (NAIA). As a freshman, she knocked down a 3-pointer in her collegiate debut at Michigan State. Grabbed a career-high three rebounds against Madonna in her freshman season.
Personal: Eva is the daughter of Javier Pardo Guerrero and Mercedes Campillo Díaz. She plans to major in nursing while at Augustana.
