5/6/2024 11:00:00 AM

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -  Augustana head women's basketball coach Nate Vogel has announced three additions to his 2024-25 roster. Olivia Hayenga, Izzy Klumper, and Brinlee McRae will join the Vikings for the 2024-25 season.

Olivia Hayenga | Guard/Forward | Worthington, Minn. | Worthington HS | Minnesota West
Vogel on Hayenga: "Signing a National Player of the Year is a gigantic deal for our women's basketball team.  Olivia can play a lot of different spots.  She's an extremely versatile player that will fit perfectly into both our offensive and defensive systems.  We're very fortunate to get a player of Olivia's caliber."

Previous School: Hayenga was named NJCAA DIII National Player of the Year in both 2022-23 and 2023-24 after leading Minnesota West to back-to-back National Championship games, including a national championship in 2023-24. She averaged 22.8 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in her second season and was named the Championship's most valuable player after 22 points and grabbing eight boards in the national title game. She was an MCAC South Player of the Year, NJCAA DIII 1st Team All-American, and WBCA 1st-Team All-American as a sophomore and holds the program record in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks.

High School: As a senior at Worthington High School, Hayenga averaged 19.1 points and seven rebounds per game and was the team's most valuable player. She was also a team captain. Hayenga was named all-area first team and all-conference first team while breaking the 1,000 point plateau.

Personal: Olivia is the daughter of Sarah Hayenga and Craig Hayenga. She plans to major in graphic design while at Augustana.

Izzy Klumper | Guard | Westbrook, Minn. | Westbrook-Walnut Grove HS
Vogel on Klumper: "Izzy is a perfect addition to Augustana women's basketball.  Her parents are Augustana alumni, she's the all-time leading scorer at her high school and she's a great person. As a coach, what else could you want?! We are extremely excited to add the Klumper's to our family."

High School: As a senior, Klumper averaged 17.1 points per game while knocking down 102 3-pointers at a 39 percent clip. She lef the Chargers to to the most wins in school history and was apart of a defense that allowed the lowest points per game total in Minnesota Class A. She scored a program-best 1,583 points in her career and holds school records for single-game 3-pointers (9), single-season three's (102) and career three's (250). She was first-team all conference, Marshall Independent Player of the Year and all-area first team, and all-state honorable mention while being selected to play in the Minnesota All-Star Game. She was also efficient in the classroom, earning academic all-state and all-conference as a senior.

Personal: Izzy is the daughter of Dan and Abby Klumper. She plans to major in exercise science while at Augustana.

Brinlee McRae | Guard | Sandy, Utah | Alta HS | Utah State Eastern
Vogel on McRae: "Brinlee is a young woman I originally signed in Texas and I love the way she plays. Trying to get her to Augustana was a no-brainer.  She's another guard that can play multiple positions and shoots the 3 at a high clip. The thing that stood out the first time I watched her and every time I've watched her since is how hard she plays. She's also a great student who will be a great culture fit for our program as well."

Previous School: McRae played two seasons at Utah State Eastern. As a sophomore, she played all 28 games and averaged 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds oer game while dishing 40 assists and grabbing 30 steals. She also played all 29 games as a freshman and averaged 7.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while helping lead the Lady Eagles to their first conference championship game in 44 years.

High School: As a senior for the Hawks, McRae averaged 19.3 points per game and grabbed a total of 248 rebounds and 141 steals while being named second team all-state. She scored over 1,000 points in her career and was a two-time captain and starter. As a junior, McRae averaged 21.7 points per game and was, again, named second team all-state while leading her team to the conference tournament.

Personal: Brinlee is the daughter of Shannon and Bryan McRae. She plans to major in graphic design while at Augustana.
