SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana wrestling head coach
Jason Reitmeier announced the addition of three athletes to the 2025-26 signing class on Wednesday, with Lane Knutson, Caleb Kurtti and Hudson Loges set to join the Vikings.
Lane Knutson | 197 pounds | Sioux Falls, S.D. | Washington High School
High School: Knutson is a four-year starter, three-year letterwinner and two-year captain for the Warriors wrestling team. He has qualified for the state tournament in each year of competition and eclipsed 100 wins last season as a junior, ending that year in fifth place at the state tournament.
Personal: Lane is the son of Tricia and Jason Knutson and plans to major in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Augustana
Coach Reitmeier on Knutson: "Lane is a high character, great student with a huge upside. Lane is a three-sport athlete excelling in football and track along with wrestling. I can't wait to get Lane in the room around our big guys and watch him make huge jumps in his wrestling. Lane is a great fit for our program."
Caleb Kurtti | 285 pounds | Goodhue, Minn. | Goodhue Public School
High School: Kurtti is a four-year letterwinner and starter and two-year captain, twice leading his team to the section semifinals. He was named the squad's most improved player as a freshman and added in back-to-back team MVP distinctions the following two years. Kurtti tallied 41 wins with 30 pins and all-conference honors as a junior and took fourth at the state tournament with all-conference honors once again as a senior.
Personal: Caleb is the son of Nick and Katie Kurtti and plans to major in Engineering during his time at Augustana
Coach Reitmeier on Kurtti: "Excited to invite Caleb and his family into our Augustana wrestling family! Caleb is an exceptional student-athlete excelling in school and multiple sports. Caleb caught our eye in the spring competing regional and national in freestyle and Greco. We loved his size, athleticism and work ethic. Can't wait to get him in our room."
Hudson Loges | 141 pounds | Blair, Neb. | Blair High School
High School: Loges is a three-year starter and four-year letterwinner who placed at the state tournament as a freshman and won the 106-weight class as a sophomore. He accrued a near-perfect 54-1 record in the 2022-23 season and has twice collected Academic All-State honors.
Personal: Hudson is the son of Jennifer and Bobby Loges and plans to major in Biology with a minor in Finance during his time at Augustana
Coach Reitmeier on Loges: "We are excited to have Hudson join our wrestling family. Hudson is an extremely talented wrestler with state, national and international experience. So, the stage is never too big for Hudson. Hudson is also an exceptional student; he will fit into our program really well."
