INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Augustana swimming and diving team completed the second day of the NCAA National Championships on Thursday afternoon.
The women's 400 medley relay team positioned themselves to win All-America honors, but a disqualification due to an early takeoff by 0.07 seconds kept the Vikings off the podium. The relay squad consisting of
Bryn Greenwaldt,
Nesrine Jelliti,
Angelina Chan and
Meesha Montgomery clocked in with a time of 3:39.42 in the timed finals, which would have been a new program record and put them in fourth.
On Thursday morning,
David Binsfeld made program history , becoming the first male to compete in the NCAA Diving Championships. He competed until the very end, missing out on All-America honors by 1.25 points to finish 17th, totaling 419.30 points.
As a team, Augustana is in 13th place at the championships with 57 points.
