1/10/2026 7:23:00 PM

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana women's basketball team (6-10, 3-7 NSIC) fell 88-47 to the Northern State Wolves (9-7, 4-6) on Saturday night inside the Elmen Center.

Again, Isabella Sanneh found herself at the top of the scoring column for the Vikings ending her night with 14 points and nine rebounds. Addie Hanna added six points shooting 2 for 3 beyond the arc. Maliyah Elliott also added six points while Ava Pautz contributed five.

After a hot start from Northern State, Sanneh opened the Viking scoring with a layup and-one. That however didn't stop the spark that was started by the Wolves. The Wolves went 4 for 4 on 3-pointers prior to a timeout by Augustana.

Sanneh was a force for the Vikings in the first quarter, converting two and-ones for six points. Lomax rounded out the scoring for the quarter with a three. The Vikings trailed 28-11 after the first.

The Vikings defense came out strong with a steal from Elliott and a putback from Sanneh. The Vikings defense remained strong, holding the Wolves scoreless for over three minutes. The offense however didn't cover much ground, only scoring on the Sanneh putback.

After a bucket from Pautz and a 3-pointer from Hanna, the Vikings went scoreless for the final 3:24 of action. The Vikings continued to trail 52-21 after the half. Sanneh led the Vikings with eight points and three rebounds.

The Viking offense struck first with a layup from Payton Hardy. Elliott continued the scoring, sinking two free throws. After back-and-forth misses and turnovers and a pair of free throws from NSU, Sanneh put up back-to-back baskets for the Vikings to pull them within 54-29.

The Wolves didn't let that stop them as they went on a 6-0 run in two minutes to force an Augustana timeout. Hanna ended the run with a 3-pointer out of the timeout. The Vikings had another scoreless end to the quarter still trailing the Wolves 68-34.

The first 2:11 of the final frame went scoreless before a basket from the Wolves closed the scoreless stretch. Pautz didn't waiver, answering the NSU bucket with one of her own.

The Wolves went on a 5-0 run ended by a deep three from Greta Dillinger getting her first points of the game with 6:03 remaining. The Wolves outscored the Vikings 12-8 the rest of the way to bring the game to its final score.

The Vikings return to action on Friday, traveling north to take on MSU Moorhead at 7:30 p.m.
