INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA has released the brackets for the Division II Wrestling Championships that will be held at the Birmingham Crossplex/Bill Harris Arena on March 10-11. The wrestling championships will be a part of the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships Festival held in Birmingham, Ala.

This year's Winter Festival will take place March 7-11 at the Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala. and will be hosted by the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the City of Birmingham. National champions will be decided in men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's indoor track & field, and wrestling.

Augustana had five wrestlers qualify for the Division II National Championships after placing in the top-four at their respective weight classes at the Super Region 3 Championships in Moorhead, Minn. this past weekend.

Brandon Carroll (125), Tyler Nation (157), Aero Amo (184), Ben Goodwin (197) and Michael Lowman (285) will represent the Vikings at nationals.

Carroll (20-11) will take on Darek Huff of Adams St. (24-10) after placing second at regionals at 125 pounds. Carroll became the first Viking true freshman to qualify for nationals since 2003.

Nation (20-10) drew Eric Lewandowski of Gannon (14-4) after taking third at 157 pounds at the regional. This will be Nation's first appearance at nationals.

Amo (35-7) will go up against Levi Niebauer of Pitt-Johnstown (18-13) after claiming his second consecutive regional title at 184 pounds. Amo went 1-2 at nationals last year.

Goodwin (21-9) will take on Cody Brundage of Newberry (20-11) after winning the regional championship at 197 pounds last weekend. Goodwin will be making his first appearance at nationals.

Lowman (26-9) will take on Paul Head of California Baptist (24-10) after taking second at 285 pounds at the regional. This will be Lowman's second career nationals appearance after going 1-2 as a sophomore.

Wrestling will begin on Friday, March 10 at 11 a.m. at the Birmingham Crossplex/Bill Harris Arena.
