DES MOINES, Iowa - The Augustana track and field team concluded its trip to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday afternoon with three top-15 finishes.
"The Drake Relays are always a meet that we circle on our calendar, because of the history of the meet, along with all the top competitors that make it one of the best meets in the US," head coach
Tracy Hellman said of the Drake Relays. "Unfortunately the weather affected many of the races and places during the weekend. But our kids persevered and had some great performances. Highlighting our teams this weekend was
Kelsey Kaufmann and josh barrows. Kelsey had a lifetime best and now sits fourth nationally in the high jump. She placed very high in this deep talented field. Josh had a solid 400 hurdles considering the weather and beat many high caliber runners. He also had an outstanding anchor leg for our runner-up 4x800 team. We now continue the final push towards the championship season."
