SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana track & field teams return to action after the Holiday Break opening up at the Minnesota State Invitational hosted by Minnesota State.
The meet is slated to start at 2 p.m. with live results and live video available at GoAugie.com/Live.
The Vikings enter 33 student-athletes into the meet with a combination of newcomers and veterans.Â
Notable entries on the men's side include the NSIC Preseason Field Athlete of the Year in Tyl Woelber and Lawrence Lokonobei, a second-team All-American in the 60m hurdles last year, who will be competing in the 60m hurdles.
Woelber will be competing in the 60m hurdles, long jump and high jump.
On the women's side, Mearah Miedema, the returning NSIC high jump champion, will be competing in the high jump.Â
All-American pentathlete Elizabeth Schaefer will be making her season debut along with Kaye Paschka prepping for the multi's, competing in the 60m hurdles and the shot put.
Last Time Out
Augustana had a strong showing in the first meet of the season at the SDSU Holiday Open & Multi.Â
Lokonobei was just shy of the NCAA Provisional time in the 60m hurdles running 8.25 a mark that ranks him third in the NSIC.
Augustana had a good turnout in the 600m with Matthew Schoessow's time of 1.23.80 ranking him first in the conference. On the women's side, Elizabeth Schmidt ranks second with her time of 1:37.20.
