AUSTIN, Texas – The Augustana women's cross country and track & field teams have had two members named CoSIDA Academic All-America.
Rachel Rairdon and
Rebekah Rairdon each earn their first Academic All-America accolades. The duo are part of 23 members that own a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-America® program.
Rachel triple majored in Spanish, modern foreign languages and accounting & finance with her 4.00 GPA, was the Elite 90 award winner during the cross country season. The Fort Collins, Colorado, native was a part of the Augustana team that placed third overall at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. She placed 45th overall at the national meet, placed ninth at the NCAA Division II Central Region Cross Country Championships. She was a part of the Central Region Cross Country Championship team and NSIC Cross Country Championship team.Â
During the outdoor track season, Rachel placed third overall in the 3,000m steeplechase running 11:02.30
Rebekah, a business & accounting major with a 4.00 GPA, was a part of the Augustana cross country team that placed third overall at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. The Fort Collins, Colorado, native placed 14th overall at the NCAA Division II Central Region Cross Country Championships to help the team win the Central Region Team Championship. She placed fifth at the NSIC Cross Country Championships helping Augustana to an NSIC Cross Country team title.
During the outdoor track season, she ran a season-best time of 10:36.61 in the 3,000m steeplechase to qualify for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Rebekah also was runner-up in the 3,000m steeplechase at the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The pair of Academic All-America honors brings the Vikings' tally to 11 members in 2021-22, surpassing the 2020-21 total of nine for the most Academic All-America honorees in one year in Augustana history.
