SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana swimming & diving teams were back in a comfortable pool Friday for the first day of the Coyote Extravaganza. The two-day meet has been split into duals against each team with the women's team claiming a pair of victories against NSIC competition while falling to Division I foes. The men's squad faced a pair of Division I squads while narrowing its gap in a loss to SCSU.

In the Fast Lane
- Pedro Borin claimed the victory in the 100 butterfly as he touched the wall in 51.50 seconds. His first 50 yards timed in at 24.78 to set the tone in the race. Jackson Dircks also saw success in the event as he placed fifth, and second as a DII swimmer, in a time of 51.89.
- Borin also earned a fifth place finish in the 50 free in a time of 21.84.
- Nesrine Jelliti continued her torrid season as she paced the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.32.
- In the 50 free, Bryn Greenwaldt placed second by just .05 of a second. She touched the wall in a time of 23.81, just behind the swimmer from Northern Iowa. Meesha Montgomery was the second Division II swimmer in the event as she timed in at 24.62.
- Greenwaldt was also the top Division II swimmer in the 100 backstroke while finishing third overall. She finished in a time of 58.05 while teammate Nathalia Silva placed eighth overall in a time of 59.16.

Off the Boards
- Caden Kavanagh earned the victory on the 3M diver as he totaled 226.3 points. David Binsfeld placed fourth with a score of 214.2.
- Avery Lommel led the women's diving squad on the 1M as she totaled 238.85 points for third place.Â
