BROOKINGS, S.D.-- The Augustana indoor track & field squad saw eight top-10 all-time finishes on the final weekend of the regular season. Majority of the Vikings traveled to Brookings, South Dakota, to compete at the SDSU Last Chance meet, while a small contingent went south to Lincoln, Nebraska, to compete at the Nebraska Tune-up.Â
Jonah Breuer began the day for Augustana at the SDSU Last Chance meet. He won the 600 meter run in a time of 1:22.04. Breuer's performance slipped him into the number six slot in the programs all-time top-10 list. Joining Breuer was Ethan Boyens who took second place in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:22.20, this finish placed Boyens at number seven in the all-time top-10 list at Augustana.Â
Ana McCabe won the 3000 meter run at the SDSU Last Chance meet with a time of 10:22.37. Joining McCabe was Aubrey Surage who recorded a third place finish with a time of 10:29.07. On the men's side, Matt Steiger won the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:30.53.Â
Mia Salas garnered a second place finish in the 1000 meter run at the SDSU Last Chance. Her time of 2:53.98 claimed her spot in the number four slot of the top-10 list at Augustana. Joining Salas was Patty Jo English who secured a number eight spot in the all-time list with a time of 2:53.98. Lily Juhnke was the final Viking on the women's side to grasp an all-time top-10 placement. Juhnke holds the number three slot in the top-10 list in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.79.Â
Gavin Fischer claimed another event win in the 200 meter dash. He crossed the finish line in a time of 21.91 to claim the number two slot in the all-time top-10 list. Trent DeCook also etched his name into the top-10 running in a time of 22.29 in the 200 meter dash.
Rounding out the all-time top-10 list performances of the weekend was Andrew Martens. Martens competed at the Nebraska Tune-up where he garnered both an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark and the number four slot in the all-time top-10 list.
At the Nebraska Tune-Up, Colten Brand garnered an additional provisional mark in the mile event with a time of 4:08.82. Ryan Hartman joined Brand in the race with a finishing time of 4:10.37, also garnering a provisional mark.Â
