HOLLAND, Mich. – The Augustana men's swimming & diving team begins action at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships Friday in Holland, Michigan. The four-day event pits the Vikings against the other six GLIAC schools for the conference championship.
Prelims begin each day at 9 a.m. and finals at 4:30 p.m. Live streaming is available via FloSports for a subscription fee. Meet mobile is the only platform for live results.
The GLIAC doesn't announce a preseason poll. With last year's results, Augustana placed seventh and return virtually its entire roster.
Based off 2023-24 regular season results, the 100 IM should prove to be a strong event for AU with three members ranked in the top-10 times.
Isaac Rokusek is ranked third in the event after swimming at time of 51.91 at the Augustana Invitational this season.
Jackson Dircks is ranked seventh at 53.09 while
Peyton Bartsch is eighth at 53.38.
Pedro Borin, the only Viking to earn GLIAC All-Conference honors in the program's history, enters the meet with the ninth-best time in the 200 Fly in 1:51.75. The event is what he has earned all-conference accolades in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. He holds the school record in the event with a time of 1:47.79 set at the championships in 2022.
The final swimmer with a top-10 time in an event is
Ethan Kinney as he holds the 10
th fastest time in the 50 backstroke at 23.43.
On the 3-meter, 11-dive,
Caden Kavanagh is ranked 10
th with 402.25 points.
