VERMILLION, S.D. – Augustana track and field hit the road for one last meet before the NSIC Championships next week as the Vikings saw two student-athletes finish on the podium in their respective events. Augustana had 13 Vikings compete in the USD Invite Friday afternoon.
In his men's 3000m steeple debut,
Beau Brock put up a strong finish as he crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 9:44.58.
In the field,
Bryn Greenwaldt landed with a second-place mark in the women's high jump leap of 1.66m.
Three Vikings took part in the men's 800m as
Nick Bachelor finished in 11th with a personal record time of 1:56.76.
Ryan Schroeder crossed the line with a time of 2:00.51 while
Jed Dooyema finished with a time of 2:04.39.
Anna Jensen dashed to a time of 1:00.85 in the women's 400m and a spot just outside the top five. On the men's side,
Alex Otten crossed the line in 12th with a time of 52.03.
Melik Davis took part in two events throughout the day as he blazed to a time of 22.11 in the men's 200m. Davis followed up his performance with a 16th-place finish in the men's 100m with a time of 11.08.
Matthew Schoessow came quickly behind Davis with a time of 11.30.
Portland Twilight
Augustana sent three runner out West for a coveted meet held in Portland, Oregon.
Ryan Hartman highlight the meet for the Vikings with a third place finish in the men's 1500m after he finished with a time of 3:44.78.
Colten Brand followed behind Hartman with a time of 3:51.46 as he finished in 15th.
Erik Gundersen dashed across the finish line with a time of 14:25.20 in the men's 5000m as he claimed 11th.
