Three School Records Fall, Men's DMR Claims Titles at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – Augustana track and field lit it up on the blue track in the final two days of action at the Drake Relays where three school records were broken and one relay team took a victory lap on Saturday.
 
FRIDAY
On the third day of the Drake Relays, the women's 4x200-meter relay team consisting of Noutsougan, Juhnke, Maia Peterson, and Kur rounded out the night, running a new school record with a time of 1:40.03. 
 
The men's 4x200-meter relay team ran a 1:29.39 taking the fifth-place spot in the Augustana record books. The team included Layton Johnson, Liam Schick, Melik Davis, and Trent DeCook
 
In the qualifying women's 4x100-meter relay, the squad of Noutsougan, Kur, Sallee and Juhnke ran a 46.64 to move on to the finals.
 
The men's 4x100-meter relay with Johnson, DeCook, Davis, and Luke Berends, ran a solid time of 42.31.
 
In the 4x400-meter relays, the women's squad of Caroline Sudbeck, Jayda Becker, Caitlin Ostbye and Ella Heinitz ran a 3:54.18 and the men's team of DeCook, Jarding, Tyler Christianson and Davis ran a 3:20.40.
 
The women's sprint medley of Kur, Juhnke, Peterson and Sydnee Serck ran a 4:15.41
 
Andrew Martens hurdled his way to 13th in the 110-meter hurdles, running a time of 14.18, as Juhnke took 11th in the 100-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 11.81.
 
Kur clocked a 55.47 in the women's 400-meter dash to take fourth place overall in the event while in the women's long jump, Sallee finished eighth (18-06.00) and Becker was ninth (18-05.00).
 
SATURDAY
Action started bright and early and in convincing fashion as the men's distance medley relay of Payton Brown, Jude Jarding, Tyson Ricker and Ryan Hartman clocked a 9:49.64 to win the event and break the Augustana school record.
 
The women's 4x100-meter relay of Jennifer Noutsougan, Nyanas Kur, Kylee Sallee and Lily Juhnke rewrote Augustana history with their third-place finish in 46.33 seconds.
 
Bryn Greenwaldt took 12th in the high jump with her clearance of 5-05.25.
 
UP NEXT
The Vikings will travel south to Vermillion, South Dakota to compete at the USD Tune Up on May 2.
