Charles Reynolds provided some bright spots Augustana athletics during the bleak years of the early 1950's. A Washington High School graduate, Reynolds was active in basketball, football and baseball. 

As a football player, Reynolds earned a freshman numeral and three varsity letters. Playing a center linebacker position Reynolds was a football captain as a senior and was an all-North Central Conference honorable mention pick.

Reynolds was also a basketball starter for two years in which time he received a freshman numeral and two varsity letters.

Since graduating from Augustana in 1953, Reynolds has attended the University of Minnesota, Mankato State and South Dakota State University where he received his M.S. in physical education in 1957.

He was a teacher and head coach of both football and track at high schools n Akron, Iowa: Windom and Park Rapids, Minn., before beginning a tenure as a n assistant professor and head coach of football and baseball at Bethel College in Arden Hills, Minn., from 1970-1980.
