Gremmels is best remembered as a two time winner of All-North Central Conference honors for the basketball Vikings during 1950-52. He was named the league’s “Most Valuable Player” both years and the Augustana Honor Athlete in 1952. A transfer student, Gremmels was eligible for only 2 ½ years at Augie. He averaged 21.7 points per game.
