When Augustana volleyball coach Zaundra Bina set her sights on building the Viking volleyball program she needed a dependable setter. She found what she was looking for in the backyard of her alma mater, NDSU. Michelle Ohren committed to Augustana from Moorhead, MN and led the Vikings to national prominence on the volleyball court.

A four-year starter at setter, "Mick" holds the school records for most games in a season and most games in a career. An excellent defender, she compiled 1,503 digs, which is second on the school's career chart. She was named to the All-NCC team in 1992 and 1994, and three times was chosen conference player of the week. In 1994, Mick was an All-Region selection.

Under her steady leadership, the Viking volleyball program reached new heights. A highlight came in her senior year. She says, "One of my most memorable moments was beating the conference powerhouse, NDSU, on our home court my senior year in front of a very spirited fan section."

Mick also has special admiration for her coach, "Zaundra was driven to build an established program at Augie. She and her staff put in countless hours recruiting, practice, game preparation, etc. I respect Zaundra for pushing me to be the best that I could be and for being a part of the Augustana volleyball program."
