Jon Lundberg is among the most proficient wrestlers in Augustana history, standing third in career wins with a 106-19-1 record.

In 1980, his sophomore year, Jon won the 167-pound title in the NCAA Division II national championships. Two years later he received the Stan Marshall Award as the outstanding senior male athlete in the North Central Conference.

Lundberg's senior year was memorable. He won the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Honor  Athlete Award, and was ranked fifth nationally, regardless of division, by Amateur Wrestling News. He won the NCC title that year despite torn cartilage in his ribs.

He was a two-time NCC champion at 167 pounds, and was named to the league's all-academic wrestling team in 1981. Throughout his collegiate career Jon maintained a 3.38 grad point average.

Jon continued his wrestling career following graduation in 1982 and participated in Athletes in Action and the Campus Crusade for Christ for six years. IN 1986 he pinned all of his opponents to win the Pan American wrestling championships. He was a five-time freestyle All-American and Olympic Festival participant, and twice was a World Team alternate.
